MICRO-NEEDLING

Micro-needling is a cosmetic procedure at Estee Beauty Clinic. It involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy.

Targeted areas for micro-needling:

  • acne scars.

  • age spots (also called “sun spots”)

  • fine lines and wrinkles.

  • large pores.

  • other types of scars.

  • reduced skin elasticity.

  • uneven skin tone.

Who should not do microneedling?

Microneedling can cause bleeding so it may not be suitable for people with clotting or bleeding disorders, or who take medicine to thin their blood. You may want to avoid microneedling if you have conditions that affect your skin, such as eczema or diabetes, or if you have a weakened immune system.

Does microneedling tighten skin?

Microneedling is generally a safe and effective procedure that can improve the appearance of the skin. It may reduce wrinkles, diminish scarring, and tighten or rejuvenate loose or aging skin.

How long will my face be red after microneedling?

Redness is the most common side effect of microneedling, but it usually dissipates within 24 – 48 hours after your session. In some patients, mild redness can last up to four days.

Can I shower after microneedling?

After microneedling the tiny punctures will have allowed a small amount of the skins natural moisture to leak onto the face. This can make the skin feel more dry and sticky. It is best rinsed off in a luke warm shower with a gentle cleanser a couple of hours after micro needling.

How long does it take collagen to rebuild after microneedling?

Most clients see full results at between four and six weeks following treatment. This gives your body enough time to produce collagen and elastin and to send it to your micro wounds.

Can I microneedle my neck?

There are a few areas on the body where microneedling is especially beneficial, and the neck is one of them. The skin on the neck is thin and delicate, making it more prone to wrinkles, sun damage, and other signs of aging.

Can you microneedle under eye bags?

Microneedling can be used under your eyes to promote collagen production, which can lead to firmer, more youthful-looking skin. This procedure is typically used to treat dark circles or translucent skin under your eyes.
